Meet The Owners
Denny and Genna’s story began with “Big Bertha,” their beloved towable smoker, and a simple love for great barbecue. What started as relaxed weekend cooks for camping trips, family gatherings, and friends soon grew into a passion-fueled journey filled with events, competitions, and unforgettable flavors.
As Denny began competing with the Mid-Atlantic BBQ Association, he traveled throughout Virginia and neighboring states, refining his craft and earning recognition along the way. In 2021, his success on the competition circuit earned him an invitation to the prestigious KCBS World Invitational in Shawnee, Oklahoma—where he proudly captured First Place in Chicken.
In May 2022, during a local competition in Louisa, Virginia, Denny and Genna were presented with an exciting opportunity to open a restaurant in beautiful Louisa County. What began as a hobby has grown into a full-service barbecue destination built on passion, quality, and community—and we’re honored to share it with you.
